There are many beautiful places in the world. We cannot include them all in one list. But these fantastic destinations are worth getting to the top of your travel bucket list. These are places to consider if you’re looking to relax on a beach, get off the grid, or explore a new international city.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been to all of these places. But they are definitely on my bucket list right now. I know it will probably take more than a lifetime to visit all these places, and it’s nice to dream.

1. Zhangye Danxia Geopark in China (Beautiful Places in the World)
Our first beautiful place in the world is Zhangye Danxia Geopark. Geology buffs and avid Instagrammers will be drawn to the otherworldly hues of the “Rainbow Mountains.” The colors form from layers of mineral deposits that have sedimented over millions of years, but it’s hard to look at the flowing reds, yellows, and oranges and not feel like you’re witnessing magic.
2. Maroon Bells in the USA (Beautiful Places in the World)
Located about 10 miles from Aspen, Colorado, the Maroon Bells are two 14,000-foot peaks in the Elk Mountains, reflected in a crystal-clear Maroon Lake hidden in a glacial valley. They are the crown jewels of the Rocky Mountains and one of the most photographed sights in the country.
The eternal beauty of these peaks reflected in the lake is even more striking. In the summer, every hiking trail leads you through fields of wildflowers, and in the fall, the towering aspen trees dazzle with a rainbow. The colors, or in winter, the snow and ice will amaze you. The best photo opportunities are on one of the many hiking trails – access by cars is limited. The lake is popular with fly fishermen – even if they don’t catch anything, the beauty around them is enough.
3. Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Japan (Beautiful Places in the World)
Every tourist should experience the beauty of this beautiful bamboo grove on the outskirts of Kyoto. In 1996 Japan’s Ministry of the Environment listed the sound—wood creaking, leaf rustling—as one of Japan’s 100 best soundscapes.
4. Pamukkale in Turkey (Beautiful Places in the World)
These natural, snow-white hot springs above the town of Denizli will amaze you more than any bath you’ve ever seen. On top of the picturesque soak, Pamukkale also has the impressively preserved ruins of the ancient Roman spa city of Hierapolis, where you can bathe like an emperor among sunken centuries-old columns.
5. Anse Source d’Argent, Seychelles (Beautiful Places in the World)
Pinpointing the most beautiful Seychellois beaches is like splitting hairs, but Anse Source d’Argent gets extremely high marks for its silvery-white sands framed by dramatic granite boulders and shimmering aquamarine waters.
